Formula 1 is a world in constant movement, where behind the scenes there are numerous movements taking place that we try to reveal only at the end. The circus is moving from Imola to Monte Carlo, the most glamorous Grand Prix of the year, where you can usually get a lot of news of various kinds. This is also a key moment for Formula 1 itself as the regulations for the next regulatory cycle are being defined, as well as dealing with a driver and technician market in a phase of precarious balance. The moves of Carlos Sainz, Audi, Mercedes and the future of Red Bull are awaited after the events at the beginning of the year. At Ferrari, a strengthening market on a technical level is still underway, with the latest announcements from Loic Serra and Jerome D’Ambrosio. However, there is another team that is making a lot of headlines, namely the Andretti-Cadillac team, which scored the important feat of Pat Symonds

ANDRETTI STRENGTHENS ITS STRUCTURE WITH THE ARRIVAL OF PAT SYMONDS, IN VIEW OF AN ENTRY INTO FORMULA 1

In the last few hours, news broke that the F1 Chief Technical Officer had recently left his position and started his gardening period. This is an important move at a very delicate moment for F1, given that the writing of the regulations for the next regulatory cycle is at stake, with a deadline now approaching. Pat Symonds was one of the men in charge of following the development of these rules. He did this with Nikolas Tombazis, the former Ferrari who had recently become FIA Single-Seater Manager.

Jan Monchaux, a former Sauber, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo engineer, joined their ranks earlier in 2024.

The Andretti-Cadillac team has released an announcement announcing the English engineer’s new adventure. In fact, at the end of the gardening period, Pat Symonds will move to the American team’s Silverstone headquarters to contribute his knowledge and qualities to strengthen the technical structure of the new Andretti and General Motors team.

The first words of welcome were given directly by Andretti Global Chairman & CEO Michael Andretti.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Pat to the Andretti family. Pat’s deep knowledge of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and Formula 1 powertrains will be instrumental as we continue to build a competitive team. I believe his experience has been instrumental in shaping the narrative of Formula 1, and his vote of confidence in joining our effort speaks volumes. I am really happy with this next step as our work continues apace”

Michael Andretti’s words were joined by those of Nick Chester, Technical Director for Andretti Cadillac:

“I have had the pleasure of working with Pat in the past, and he has a wealth of knowledge that we can draw on. Pat will bring expertise in technical areas and team operations to his role as executive technical advisor who will help us develop the team.”
