Lance Stroll impressed much of the field with his impressive performance in Bahrain, managing injuries in both wrists to secure important points for Aston Martin.
As the season has progressed, it is increasingly clear that Stroll and the Silverstone-based squad will be in an intense fight against F1’s established front-runners.
Mercedes and Ferrari will be working to overturn their difficult starts to this new set of regulations, which Red Bull has clearly mastered at this early stage.
Aston Martin has managed to assert itself as a genuine threat with the AMR23, establishing an important baseline to build upon for the foreseeable future.
Significant wind tunnel time should give the British squad a crucial advantage over its rivals, especially given the progression shown by the team last year.
However, an equally important aspect of this competition will be how Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll manage against the strong line-ups at Ferrari and Mercedes.

With this in mind, Stroll has explained the importance of developing a strong relationship with his experienced teammate:
“I definitely enjoy working alongside him. He’s incredibly talented, knowledgeable, experienced, and hungry to get the most out of himself every day,” he explained after the Miami GP.
“I have a huge amount of respect for him because he’s been doing that for a long time.
“He’s been at the top of his game for… how many years has he been in F1 now? I don’t know, more than 20 years? So, I think just to see that determination and focus and motivation every day, I have a lot of respect for that.
“And, yeah, we have a great synergy in the team, and the car’s been really nice to drive.
“I think we’ve been having a great relationship, and the sense that we’re both trying to get more out of the car every weekend.”
With the Monaco GP up ahead, a phase of intense mid-season development is about to commence throughout the field.
Aston Martin plans to progressively introduce evolutions and upgrades this season, as opposed to implementing large update packages at one specific event.
In any case, the biggest test for the Silverstone team in their quest to conquer F1 is about to begin.
