Next week, Formula 1 will land in America for the Grand Prix in Miami, Florida. It will be the second Sprint weekend and there will be the first relevant news for McLaren and Mercedes. We will have to wait a little longer for the long-awaited package of Ferrari updates. These will not debut until Imola. F1 always looks forward, and so Pirelli has already communicated what the tyre choices will be for Imola, Canada and Monaco. There are no surprises, with an identical choice for these three appointments.

PIRELLI SELECTS THE SOFTEST TIRE RANGE FOR THE RETURN TO EUROPE AND THE CANADIAN STAGE

Imola, Monte Carlo, and Canada have something in common regarding Formula 1. This shared characteristic is the tyre asphalt, which is not especially harsh on the tyres. It is a very different situation from Bahrain and Suzuka, for example. However, these venues are closer to Australia, where, unsurprisingly, we saw Pirelli make the same choice.

The Italian-Chinese manufacturer, therefore, confirms the C3-C4-C5 compounds for these rounds. This is a softer step than what we will see in a week in Miami.

Pirelli

There is no news regarding tyre allocation compared to last year for Monaco and Canada, where historically, Pirelli has always chosen the softest compounds available. Instead, a special issue is for the Emilia Romagna circuit, where Formula 1 will return to racing after a year’s break.

Unfortunately, in fact, the 2023 edition was cancelled due to the flood that hit those areas of Italy with the consequent flood that damaged those lands and made it clearly impossible to hold an event of this magnitude.

Remaining closely linked to the world of Formula 1, Pirelli chose the C3-C4-C5 compounds already last year. They made a leap towards the softer tyres used in 2022 in the hope of creating more strategic variation between the teams. This will, therefore, be the opportunity to verify whether this choice will be paid or not.
